The Chargers cruised to a 30-0 win over Yuma on the new field at Ed Brown Stadium

TUCSON — Cholla christened their new artificial turf field at Ed Brown Stadium with a resounding 30-0 win over visiting Yuma.
The game was suspended due to weather at halftime.
The new field is the latest for a TUSD school after voters passed a Bond back in 2023. Pueblo High School got a new field last season.
The Chargers “Orange Crush” defense stifled the Criminals, who have had just four winning seasons since 2000.
Cholla is looking for their 1st winning campaign in 11 years. Cholla has had just three winning seasons this century (2205, 2010, 2015).
Senior quarterback Damian Estrella led the charge as Cholla scored a pair of touchdowns in the 1st quarter to open up a 16-0 lead.
Estrella scored on a seven-yard quarterback keeper to up the lead to 23-0 in the 2nd quarter. He then found senior wide receiver Emilio Desantis on a 40-yard strike to put the game away.
Lightning could be seen in the distance as the team’s headed to the locker room at halftime. They never returned and the game was halted after a brief suspension.
Cholla’s next contest is at Maryvale next Thursday.
