TUCSON — Monday night was senior night for Pueblo Girls Volleyball with the Warriors (23-6, 10-1) featuring six seniors in Emma Castillo, Genesis Gutierrez, Anette Urquijo, Isabella Carrillo, Brooklyn Espinoza and Abigail Fierros.
In its final home game of the regular season, Pueblo faced off against Desert View (2-25) with the playoffs right around the corner. Despite the game being delayed due to the freshmen game and junior varsity game running behind, the Warriors kept rolling by sweeping the Jaguars 3-0 winning sets 25-17, 25-21 and 25-13.
Coming into the match, the Warriors had won three-straight matches with the last loss coming against Cienega, Pueblo struggled in the second set but overcame a 19-16 deficit to lock in the second set win, which led to the sweep.

The Warriors are a senior lead team, and it was no different on Monday night as Carrillo was all over the court making plays and scoring to help lift the team over Desert View. She had been averaging four kills per game throughout the season but went above that average with six on the night.
As the playoffs get closer, Pueblo will wrap up its regular season against Nogales (12-15) on the road.
The last time Pueblo made the postseason in girls volleyball was during the 2015-16 season. Head coach Kiley Keefe has built Pueblo volleyball back up throughout her five seasons and will see postseason volleyball for the first time leading this program.
The Warriors are currently ranked No. 7 in Conference 5A.
