Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is in critical condition at Bellevue Hospital following an early Sunday morning shooting in New York, the New York Post reported.
Per the newspaper, the shooting took place in Midtown Manhattan shortly after 2 a.m. ET.
The New York Police Department did not announce the identity of the victim in the shooting, however sources for the newspaper said it was Boyd. Those sources said Boyd was hit in the abdomen after a dispute resulted in two shots being fired.
Per police, no arrests have been made and the shooting is under investigation.
“We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” the Jets said in a statement.
Boyd. 29, has been on injured reserve throughout the season for the Jets.
He has totaled 105 tackles, five fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles in 81 career games (six starts) with the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans. He was selected by the Vikings in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
