Game Mercury forward earns third career selection and second starting spot
at Las Vegas Aces
ARIZONA — Phoenix Mercury forward Satou Sabally has been named a starter for the 2025 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game, the WNBA announced today. The game will be played on Saturday, July 19, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
This marks Sabally’s third career WNBA All-Star selection (2021, 2023, 2025) and her second time being selected as a starter (2023, 2025).
Through 17 games this season, Sabally is averaging a career-high 19.1 points (6th in the WNBA), along with 8.0 rebounds (7th), 2.6 assists, and 1.4 steals. She joins two-time MVP A’ja Wilson and 2024 MVP runner-up Napheesa Collier as the only players in the league averaging 19 or more points, 8 or more rebounds, 2 or more assists, and at least 1 steal per game.
MERCURY FRANCHISE RECORD
Sabally is tied for third in the league in 20-point games (9) and leads in games with 15 or more points and 5 or more rebounds (13). Her 136 rebounds are the most in franchise history through 17 games, and her 314 points rank third most all-time in that span.
WNBA All-Star starters are selected by a combination of fan votes (50 percent), current players (25 percent), and a media panel (25 percent). The All-Star reserves, chosen by the league’s head coaches, will be announced on Sunday, July 6.
The 2025 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game will be broadcast at 2:30 p.m. PT on ABC. Captains Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier — the two starters with the most fan votes — will draft their teams, selecting first from the remaining eight starters, then from a pool of 12 reserves.
The WNBA Countdown draft special will air on Tuesday, July 8, at 4 p.m. PT on ESPN.
