The Wildcats rallied to tie in the 9th and win 2-1 in 10
ARLINGTON (TX) – Arizona Baseball mounted an improbable comeback and sealed a Big 12 Baseball Championship title with a 2-1 extra-innings victory over the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday night at Globe Life Field.
The victory secured the Big 12 Conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the Wildcats (39-18), who have now qualified for an NCAA Regional in five consecutive seasons.

Down 1-0 going into the top of the ninth, UA tied the game on a solo home run by Andrew Cain. Maddox Mihalakis’ RBI bloop single in the 10th put Arizona in front.
Reliever Tony Pluta (2-0) worked the final two innings to get the win in relief. He struck out three.
Starting pitcher Smith Bailey, a true freshman, was dominant for the Cats. The right-hander worked 5.1 innings and allowed just one run on four hits while striking out five.
BIG 12 BASEBALL TROPHY PRESENTATION
The Wildcats pitching staff allowed just three earned runs in 28 innings (0.96 ERA) in sweep the event.
White was named the Big 12 Championship’s Most Outstanding player. Mihalakis, Pluta, and Brendan Summerhill all joined White on the All-Tournament Team.
UA will await their NCAA Tournament destination which will be announced when the bracket is released on Monday at 9 a.m. Tucson time.
