Arizona’s 49-under tournament is 2nd-best in school history
MARANA — Arizona Men’s Golf won the NCAA Marana Regional at The Gallery Golf Club on Wednesday, finishing in first place at 49-under overall to secure a spot in the NCAA Championships.
Zach Pollo and Filip Jakubcik were co-champions and claimed the individual title in a four-way tie. The Wildcats closed out the tournament with a 49-under total score, the strongest regional performance in program history.
The 49-under par team score is the second lowest ever for a UA Men’s Golf team. The 2024 squad shot a combined 50-under at the program’s National Invitation Tournament.
Pollo and Jakubcik become just the seventh and eighth Wildcats to win an NCAA Regional. The last time a Wildcat won was Tarquin MacManus back in 2009 at the Southwest Regional.
