The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired forward Elmer Soderblom from the Detroit Red Wings on Friday in exchange for a 2026 third-round draft pick.
The draft pick originally belonged to the San Jose Sharks.
Soderblom, 24, has two goals, one assist and 64 hits in 39 games with the Red Wings this season.
The 6-foot-8 Swede is signed through 2026-27 on a contract with an average annual value of $1.125 million.
Soderblom has 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 86 career games since Detroit drafted him in the sixth round in 2019.
