North Carolina star Caleb Wilson could return “soon” from a fractured left hand, head coach Hubert Davis said.
The freshman forward sustained the injury to his non-shooting hand during a 75-66 loss at Miami on Feb. 10.
Wilson averages 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds for the 16th-ranked Tar Heels (20-5, 8-4 Atlantic Coast Conference).
“Caleb, he is great,” Davis said on his radio show Monday night. “I think if I said ‘OK,’ I think he would play with his cast on or his splint. I think he would. He’s just champing at the bit to come back because obviously he loves to play, but he loves his teammates and he loves playing here.”
Added Davis: “He’ll be back on the floor soon, so that’ll be great.”
The 6-foot-10 Wilson is a projected top-five pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Including Tuesday night’s game against Pitt in Chapel Hill, N.C., North Carolina has six games left in the regular season.
