Cats swing their way into the NCAA Tennis post-season

Both women and men make field of 64 for NCAA Championships

TUCSON — It was a celebration of Arizona’s Tennis programs on Monday as both the Wildcat women and men heard their name called for this year’s NCAA Tournament.

MEN’S TENNIS

The UA men are the No. 9 national seed after a season that saw the Wildcats (24-3) win a share of the Pac-12 regular season title with Stanford before beating the Cardinal for the Pac-12 Tournament championship.

Arizona Men’s Tennis will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tennis Championships, marking the second time in program history that the Wildcats have hosted a regional of the tournament.

The Wildcats will face 2024 Mountain West Champions Boise State in the first round. With a first-round win the Cats will advance to face the winner of Pepperdine versus Auburn in the second round.

The matchup with Boise State marks the second consecutive season in which Arizona has opened NCAA Championships play against the Broncos. The Cats defeated the Broncos 4-0 in the first round of the 2023 tournament.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Arizona Women’s Tennis is back in the post-season for the first time in ten years.

The Wildcats (17-12) will travel to College Station, Texas to take on Oklahoma in its first-round matchup.

With a first-round win the Cats will face the winner of 14-seed Texas A&M versus Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the second round

The bid is the first under head coach Ryan Stotland and the 24th in program history.
