Arizona beat visiting Lewis-Clark State 110-70 to open the season at McKale Center

HIGHLIGHTS: No. 12 Wildcats 110, Lewis-Clark State 70

TUCSON — Caleb Love’s 23 points led six players in double figures as 12th ranked Arizona opened the 2023-24 men’s college basketball season with a 110-70 exhibition victory over Lewis-Clark State at McKale Center.

Joining Love in double figures was Keshad Johnson with 19 points, five assists and four steals, Kylan Boswell with 15 points and five rebounds and KJ Lewis with 13 points, four rebounds and three steals. Dylan Anderson added 12 points and Filip Borovicanin tallied 10 points and eight rebounds in 18 minutes of action.

Love made 9-of-12 shots from the floor while dishing out seven assists.

The Warriors played Arizona even through the first 14 minutes, as the score was tied, 31-31. But Arizona turned up the defensive pressure and closed the half on a 17-2 run that was capped off by a 35-foot buzzer beater by Love.

Oumar Ballo, Pelle Larsson and Motiejus Krivas sat out the game due to injury.

The Wildcats will play their 2nd and final exhibition game at the McKale Center on Monday, October 30 against New Mexico Highlands. Tipoff is schedule for 7 p.m.
