#2 UCLA awakes in 2nd half for 4-1 win over Arizona Soccer

The Wildcats are 0-5-1 in their last six games

HIGHLIGHTS: No. 2 UCLA 4, Wildcats 1

TUCSON — No. 2 UCLA scored three second half goals handing Arizona a third straight home conference loss, 4-1 Thursday night on the Murphey Field pitch and Mulcahy Stadium.

The defeat puts UA’s post-season hopes in dire straits. The Wildcats (4-7-4, 1-5-1) would almost need to win out their final five games to grab an NCAA Tournament selection.

Lexi Wright scored a goal for the Bruins (12-1, 6-0) and was responsible for a second, when a shot that was blocked by Wildcats goalkeeper Hope Hisey ended up being deflected in for UCLA’s 1st goal of the night.

Gianna Christensen scored for Arizona in the 39th minute to tie the contest 1-1.
