Kispert withdraws from NBA Draft, returning to Gonzaga

Gonzaga standout Corey Kispert has decided to forego the 2020 NBA Draft and return to Gonzaga.

Kispert made the announcement on Twitter via a 36-second video with an overlay that read, “I’m back.”

Kispert made himself eligible for the draft in April but didn’t hire an agent, leaving open his return to the Zags.

The 6-foot-7 averaged 13.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists as a junior, scoring at least 20 points in five games and earning first-team all-West Coast Conference honors. The Edmonds, Wash., product scored 12 points as Gonzaga beat Saint Mary’s 84-66 in the WCC final on March 10, but the NCAA Tournament was canceled later that week due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Gonzaga finished the season 31-2, ranked second in the nation behind Kansas in the season-ending Associated Press poll.
