Phoenix guard Devin Booker was ruled out for the remainder of the Suns’ Monday road game against the Los Angeles Lakers due to a right groin injury.
Booker scored 11 points in 10 minutes of the first quarter but went back to the locker room and did not play in the second quarter. He was ruled out for the remainder of the night just before halftime.
On a 3-pointer with 2:27 remaining in the first quarter, Booker reached 17,000 points for his career and became the third-youngest player to reach 17,000 points and 3,600 assists at 29 years, 32 days. Only LeBron James and Oscar Robertson were younger.
The four-time All-Star is averaging 25 points and 6.7 assists in 22 games this season. In 11 NBA seasons, all with the Suns, Booker has norms of 24.5 points and 5.3 assists in 695 games (670 starts).
