Broncos’ home temporarily renamed ‘Broncos Stadium at Mile High’

The Denver Broncos’ home — formerly known as Sports Authority Field at Mile High — will temporarily be called Broncos Stadium at Mile High, the team announced on Wednesday. The district that operates the taxpayer-built stadium approved a proposal for the temporary name, while the franchise continues to seek a new naming-rights partner. Sports Authority, the previous sponsor, declared bankruptcy in 2016, but its name remained on stadium for nearly two years until signs were taken down in January.Sports Authority signed a 25-year agreement with the team worth $6 million per year in 2011. The building was called Invesco Field at Mile High for the previous 10 years since it opened in 2001.
